Save Your “CENTS for KIDS”!
Dear Employee,
You know all the innovative and educational extra things that happen in our classrooms and schools? Some of them are possible due to the Beyond the Books Educational Foundation. Since 1992, $311,152 has been awarded to support 459 grants in Unit 5 and District 87. Major funding comes from generous donations from community members and businesses. But we can show our support for the foundation’s efforts and each other as well. “Cents for Kids” is an easy way to do this!
This spring marks the 15th year of our “Cents for Kids” program in Unit 5 and District 87. Our goal each year is to increase the number of participants as well as the total dollars we give. By completing the attached form, you may donate the “odd” cents from each paycheck (ex. 49¢ if your paycheck is $250.49 which would equal a total donation of $11.76 for the year.) You may also choose to donate a specific dollar amount (ex. $1.00 per paycheck would equal $24 for the year) or as much as you care to give. Fifty per cent of all staff contributions go directly to fund grants with the remaining 50% going to the endowment. All contributions are tax deductible. It is the students who really benefit from the Beyond the Books dollars!
As teacher representatives to the Beyond the Books Educational Foundation, we encourage you to join us and participate! We’d love to see us double our participation this year! Thank you for your consideration!
Remember….every penny counts!
Sincerely,
